I don’t get why they would deliberately damage parts and then charge for replacements and then just fix the parts. It must be more cost effective to spend the time fixing parts than replacing them.

They probably also fix them haphazardly – dent the hood, bondo it, repaint it carelessly. Takes many less hours than even just painting it right (doing just the prep right takes a lot of time itself), not to mention the cost of a brand new hood.

Yeah that’s weird. Maybe they’re trying to leave some physical “evidence” of the area having been damaged in order to justify the repair? Who knows.

Yeah but they’re charging for new parts.

This reminds me of an experience I had with Active Green and Ross years ago... where I had to get the heater core replaced on my moms car.

They tried charging me for a new heater core AND “recoring” the old heater core. I asked why a new heater core would need to be recored. And they tried charging 8 hours of labour for a job that should have only taken 4.5 hours at most.

I stood there and argued with them until the excessive charges came off the bill.

I haven’t been back there since. And other people I know have experienced the same BS with them.
